Shocking statistics!

These statistics, for me at least, really hit home as to how unfair the current situation in the world is. However we can do something about this, hopefully these statistics will inspire you to act!

  • Over 6.6 million Children will die this year before their 5th birthday
  • Over 45 million people are forced away from their home due to war or persecution
  • Over 57 million children will not go to school this year
  • Over 63 million people live in the UK, almost the same as the amount of children who will not go to school this year!
  • Over 768 million people have no access to safe drinking water and therefore are at risk of waterborne diseases such as Cholera
  • Over 1 billion people have no access to sanitation, that’s over an eighth of the world!
  • 1.2 billion people live on less than 80p a day, that’s the same amount as there is Catholics in the world.
  • Due to the change in the climate of its habitat, mountaintop cloud forest, the golden frog is now extinct, since 1989, and this is most likely due to climate change.
  • There is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today than at any point in the last 800,000 years.
  • The global sea levels have risen by about 8 inches since 1870

Are you going to help change this?

Heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan destroyed thousands of homes, roads, bridges and farms in August 2013.

Due to climate change, natural disasters are getting even more frequent, houses and other buildings were destroyed by monsoons in Pakistan, this has happened for the third year in a row.
